The Patchwork Productions Summer Programs are (2) two-week programs running June 11 – 22 and July 9 - 20. The classes meet every day from 9 - 12. The classes are open to grades 1 – 8. The goal of the workshops is to give the students a complete experience of the theater through role-playing, exercises and games. The students will also learn stage presence, public speaking skills and performance techniques. A short end-of-class demonstration of the principles learned through small group performances is expected on the last day of each workshop.

LIGHTS & SOUND TRAINING CLASS

Have you wanted to find a way to be involved in the shows at the Melon Patch that doesn't involve being on stage? Then this is the perfect opportunity for you! We will be holding a class for those looking to help with Lighting, Sound and Stage Operations. We are putting together a group of people who can be called on for lights, sound, sets, props and stage management. This training class will be focused on lights & sound and will be held on Thursday, May 31st at 6:30PM. Depending on the response, the class should last around 2 hours. No need to sign up ahead, just show up! Closed shoes, jeans and a t-shirt are recommended as we will be working in some dusty areas.

See you then!

Thanks,

Don Campbell

A tribute to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s, The Fox on the Fairway takes audiences on a hilarious romp which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, it's a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers' classics. Director Linda Merritt with Mike Merritt, and Ken & Caroline Hoffman are experienced at delivering superb comedy to the Melon Patch Theatre. Order your season tickets now by calling 787-3013.

The 2011 - 2012 season is funded in part by a grant from United Arts of Central Florida.
